How can we help?
Short answers to the questions owners ask most. Search, or pick a topic.
Getting started
What does Answered do?
We write a reply to every Google review your business gets, in your voice and by rules you write in plain words. Routine replies can post on their own; anything touchy waits for your OK. Yelp and TripAdvisor have no reply tool for outside services, so we draft those replies for you to paste.
How do I sign up?
Press "Get started", enter your business name, website, city, type of business and email. We email you a sign-in link (no password). Open it, and your portal is ready. There are no calls and no setup fee.
How do I sign in?
Enter your email on the sign-in page and open the link we send. Links work once and expire quickly. We never ask for a password.
What happens in my first week?
We load your recent reviews and draft every reply in your portal within one business day. You get a few short tips by email: setting your rules, how approvals work, and a first-week summary. You can turn the tips off from any of them.
Connecting Google
How do I connect my Google Business Profile?
In your portal, open Settings and press "Connect with Google". Google shows its own screen asking whether Answered may manage your reviews. You approve it there. We never see or store your Google password, and you can remove the permission any time in your Google account.
When do replies start posting on Google?
Posting needs Google to approve our access to its review tools. Until then, we load your recent reviews and draft every reply in your portal so you can read, edit or copy them. Posting starts as soon as access opens.
I manage several locations. Which one do you answer?
If your Google account manages more than one location, we ask you to pick one. Each location is its own plan for now.
Why was a review's text removed after 30 days?
Google's rules let us keep what we read from its review tools for no more than 30 days. So 29 days after we first read a review, we remove its text and the reviewer's name. We keep our reply, the star rating and the date, and your portal shows "Review text removed after 30 days per Google's policy". The review itself is always on Google.
Writing your rules
What are rules?
A few sentences telling us how you want replies to sound and what they may say, written the way you would brief a new manager. For example: "Keep it short and warm. Sign as the team. Never offer anything free."
Will replies ever offer something free or ask people to call?
Not unless your rules allow it. By default replies never offer anything free, never give a phone number, email or link, and never ask the reviewer to contact you. They apologize, thank or praise as fits, professionally.
Do replies name my staff?
Only if the reviewer named them first. Replies are signed as your business, never as a person.
Can I see what a reply will look like before it goes out?
Yes. The Rules page has a preview, and any reply can wait for your OK if your rules say so.
Approvals and touchy reviews
Which replies wait for my OK?
Anything sensitive always waits: health or safety, legal threats, police, discrimination, refund fights and similar. Everything waits until you tick "Post replies for me automatically" in Settings. After that, routine replies go out on their own.
How do I approve a reply?
Open it in your portal and press "Approve & post". You can edit the words first, ask for a rewrite, or skip it. With Pro Max, the approval email also has an "Approve & post" button.
What if I don't want to reply to a review?
Press "Skip". Nothing is posted.
Pro and Pro Max
What does Pro add?
Replies in your own voice, coupons with your logo (sent privately, never inside a public reply), review dispute help, and growth tools: review requests by email and a printable QR kit, weekly insights, low-review alerts, what Google brought you, a profile check with holiday reminders, and Google Posts drafted for you.
What does Pro Max add?
Reputation trends (topics, dishes and staff over time), a response-time tracker, a monthly executive report to print or save as a PDF, crisis mode after a burst of low reviews, one-tap approval from email, and Google Posts on autopilot. Pro Max is opening soon; join the list on the pricing page.
Can you remove a bad review?
Only Google can remove a review, and only when it breaks Google's rules. With Pro we flag reviews that may break them and prepare the report; you send it in Google's form. Google decides, so we never promise removal. A genuine bad review gets a calm, professional reply instead.
Do you ask only happy customers for reviews?
Never. That is called review gating and Google doesn't allow it. Review requests go to every customer the same way, and nothing is ever offered in exchange for a review.
Billing and cancelling
How much does it cost?
Standard is $79 a month or $699 a year. Pro is $119 a month or $1,190 a year. Pro Max, when it opens, is $199 a month or $1,990 a year. No setup fee and no contract.
How do I update my card or see invoices?
Portal, Settings, Billing, then "Manage billing". That opens our payment provider's secure page, where you can update your card, switch plans and download receipts.
How do I cancel?
Portal, Settings, Billing, "Cancel plan". It won't renew, and you keep full service until the end of the period you already paid for. No phone call needed.
Do you give refunds?
No. All payments are final, for monthly and yearly plans, including if you cancel right after paying. Cancelling stops the next renewal and service continues to the end of your paid period.
Your data and deleting it
What happens to my data when I leave?
30 days after your service ends, we permanently delete your review data: review text, reviewer names, our replies and drafts, disputes, your Google access (revoked at Google first) and related records. We keep only what accounting and abuse prevention need: your business name, account email, plan and payment history.
Can I delete my data sooner?
Yes. Portal, Settings, Danger zone, "Delete my data". You can delete 30 days after your paid period ends, or right away and end service now. There are no refunds either way.
Do you sell my data or train AI on it?
No. We don't sell your data and we don't use your Google data to train AI models. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
